Mitch Tapson

Mitch has spent a lifetime helping others solve problems, and achieve personal goals. Many find the investment, and insurance world very confusing and Mitch is dedicated to providing the information, and actions necessary to give them peace of mind and laying a solid financial foundation for the future. He finds it very fulfilling when he is able to guide someone through the intimidation of retirement, to actually enjoying what they have worked for all their life.

After graduating from Ouachita Baptist University with honors, Mitch went on to receive a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been a senior pastor for churches in Arkansas and Texas. Mitch is the bi-vocational pastor of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Little Rock.

Mitch has obtained his series 7 and 63 licenses and is a licensed insurance agent. He is currently a Series 65-licensed financial advisor. He has worked at an independent securities firm where the emphasis was on retirement and estate planning. It was there that Mitch and Gail first had a working relationship. From that beginning they are now building on their individual strengths to bring the best guidance possible to every client and project.

With 76 million Americans (the baby boomers) entering retirement in the ensuing years, issues relating to investments, estate planning, social security, long-term care and health insurance will necessitate a tremendous need for careful, and professional guidance.

Mitch is married to Linda who is an accomplished pianist and musician. She has taught music at private schools for many years. She currently directs the music ministry of Western Hills United Methodist Church. They have 3 married daughters (Jason and Leslie Harper, Trey and Julie Elliott, Brent and Emily Pierce) who live in the central Arkansas area and “most importantly” have given Mitch and Linda 4 granddaughters and 3 grandsons.

Over the last few years many have asked Mitch, “do you miss being a pastor?” His reply is, “I’m still doing what I have always wanted to do, help people with the problems they have and hopefully take them to something better than before.”

If you would like Mitch to help you with your financial goals, call 501-730-0303 or email him at mitch.tapson@stbernardfinancial.com.

Mark Murdoch

Mark takes care of the life, health, and long-term care needs of the clients at Cardinal Investment Group (Ark Ins. Lic. #359999).

Mark is married to Gail Murdoch and they have a 14-year old daughter, Moira who is a student at Atkins Middle School. Mark has a bachelor's degree from Arkansas Tech University and is a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Atkins. In addition to his work with insurance, Mark also takes care of the technology in the office.

Financial planning involves the obvious things like saving and investing but one of the most overlooked aspects of financial planning is protecting your assets. That is where insurance comes in. Will your family be able to maintain their current lifestyle if something happens to you? If you want to make sure that your loved ones will be taken care of after you are gone then you may want to consider a life insurance policy. There are also life insurance vehicles that help with estate planning strategies. Mark can help you determine how much life insurance is needed to meet your goals and protect your family.

You also may need to make sure that you are protected in the event of illness. Unexpected medical bills can ruin a financial plan without the proper health insurance coverage. Mark works with Blue Cross/Blue Shield along with several other health insurance companies to provide a variety of health insurance options for you. If you don't usually have many health insurance claims, you might want to consider a high deductible plan coupled with a health savings account. These policies keep your premiums low and provide the opportunity for you to grow a savings account with tax advantages.

Mark can also help you with long-term care insurance in the event that you need nursing home or in-home care. This is one other way to protect your assets and also give you peace of mind that you will be well taken care of. If you would like more information about insurance, give us a call, 501-730-0303 or email Mark at mark@cardinalinvestmentgroup.com.
